Electronic Health Records and Support for Primary Care Teamwork

The combination of electronic health records (EHRs) and clinician teamwork can help primary care practices provide better care to their patients. For their Commonwealth Fund–supported study in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, researchers led by Ann S. O’Malley, M.D., of Mathematica Policy Research explored the impact of EHRs and teamwork on workflow and patient care and how practices are addressing the challenges that have arisen.
