eGEMS Special Issue: Using Health IT to Improve Care, Lower Costs

A special issue of eGEMS (Oct. 30, 2014) shares lessons learned in eight communities participating in the federal Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program, which promotes the use of electronic health records and health information exchange systems to improve health and reduce the costs of care. Articles in the special issue, which was supported in part by The Commonwealth Fund, examine how health IT can be used to improve the accuracy of diagnoses and manage population health, among many other topics.
