The success of many new models of health care delivery depends on physicians altering their behavior and functioning within a larger organization In "The Rules of Engagement: Physician Engagement Strategies in Intergroup Contexts," Sara A. Kreindler, a researcher at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority in Canada and a 2011–12 Harkness fellow, and colleagues, set out to identify the most promising strategies for engaging doctors in change. The article was published in the Journal of Health Organization and Management.

Widespread sharing of electronic health information holds great promise for improving the quality of health care and reducing its cost. But to maintain patient privacy and protect market competition, diverse partners must draw up so-called data sharing agreements (DSAs). In a new article in eGEMs (Generating Evidence and Methods to Improve Patient Outcomes, Commonwealth Fund–supported researchers identified best practices to help communities form these agreements and maximize the benefits of data exchange.
