The use of value-based payments is expanding, with some 40 percent of private health plan payments to providers now based on the quality and cost of care. In a new blog post, The Commonwealth Fund’s Rose Kleiman and Mark Zezza suggest that insights from behavioral economics, psychology, and organizational management sciences could make value-based incentives more effective.
