William Buckingham, Ph.D., is an assistant scientist in the Applied Population Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has worked extensively on health and medical GIS projects during his tenure with APL. He has assisted Center for Demography and Ecology researchers, other campus researchers, and community groups understand how to apply GIS methods to their specific research projects. Dr. Buckingham holds an M.S. in cartography and geographic information systems from UW–Madison and a Ph.D. in environment and resources (concentrated in GIS) from the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at UW–Madison.
