Tawara D. Goode, M.A., is a research instructor in the department of pediatrics at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She is director of the National Center for Cultural Competence and associate director of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, within the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development. Ms. Goode has been actively involved in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives in the area of cultural and linguistic competence at local, national, and international levels. Ms. Goode has a M.A. in human development and special education from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
