Shanoor Seervai, M.P.P., joined the Fund in September 2017 as the senior research associate to the president and as a communications associate. In 2020, she was promoted to researcher, writer, and lead podcast producer. In the role of researcher, she provided quantitative and qualitative research support to the president, and assisted the president with writing and revising publications, including blogs, op-eds, academic journal articles and book chapters. She also collaborated with researchers across the Fund on issue briefs, blog posts, and other publications.
In her capacity as writer and lead podcast producer, Seervai was the host and producer of The Dose, the Fund’s biweekly podcast about current issues in health care. She conceptualized, researched, hosted, and edited the podcast, and also produced various written materials for publication in the media and on the Fund website.
Seervai holds an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School, where she helped prepare an expert brief on child migration, and served as editor-in-chief of the Kennedy School Review. She also wrote news and feature stories about health care for Stat News. Prior to graduate school, Seervai worked as a journalist in India, as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, and as a freelance writer. She earned her B.A. in international relations, magna cum laude, from Brown University.
