Sandra Chao, M.P.H., is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently a health analyst at Mathematica Policy Research and works on projects ranging from a formative evaluation of a patient safety imitative to implementing and evaluating claims-based risk-adjusted hospital quality measures. Prior to joining Mathematica, Ms. Chao was a fellow at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Health Care Quality. She also held a graduate assistant position at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. Ms. Chao received her master’s degree from Emory University.
