Quyen Ngo-Metzger is assistant professor of medicine and director of Asian health studies at the Center for Health Policy Research at the University of California, Irvine, and adjunct natural scientist at the RAND Corporation, Santa Monica, Calif. Her research interests include the health status and health care needs of immigrant populations. In particular, she is interested in how cultural and linguistic barriers contribute to health disparities, and in developing interventions to improve chronic disease management among vulnerable populations. She received her M.D. from the University of Chicago and her M.P.H. from the Harvard University School of Public Health.
