Peter Orris, M.D., M.P.H., is professor and chief of service, occupational and environmental medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Science System. His research and teaching have covered a broad spectrum of occupational and environmental issues and medical care organization both in the United States and abroad. In the practice of hospital-based internal and occupational/environmental medicine, he has served in administrative positions in several hospitals within the Chicago area and currently is an advisor to the Illinois Department of Public Health, EPA Region V, and the World Health Organization, as well as corporations, unions, and environmental advocacy groups. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, master of public health degree from Yale, and his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School of Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences.
