Michelle M. Mello, J.D., Ph.D., M.Phil., is a legal scholar and health services researcher who conducts empirical investigations of issues at the nexus of law, ethics, and health policy. She is the author of more than 100 articles and book chapters on the medical malpractice system, medical errors and patient safety, research ethics, the obesity epidemic, pharmaceutical regulation, and other topics. Mello holds graduate degrees from Oxford University, Yale Law School, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
