Mara Saunders

Mara Saunders is a registered nurse, working on the transplant unit at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where her studies focused on health disparities in underserved communities. Ms. Saunders has conducted research on reproductive health among women in the Dominican Republic, and has worked previously with Dr. Bergman on the asthma telemedicine project, which examined the efficacy of using a telemedicine link in public elementary schools to increase health care access for children with asthma in an underserved neighborhood in San Francisco. She is currently completing her master's degree in advanced community health and international nursing at UCSF.
