Leighton Ku, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a professor of Health Policy and Management and director, Center for Health Policy Research, Department of Health Policy and Management, in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University. For more than 25 years he has conducted research and analysis regarding health care for disadvantaged populations, including studies of health care reform at national and state levels, Medicaid, safety-net health care, and immigrants. He has authored articles in Health Affairs, New England Journal of Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, the Cato Institute’s Economic Development Bulletin, and other journals. Prior to coming to George Washington, Dr. Ku was a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and a principal researcher at the Urban Institute. He is on the board of the District of Columbia’s Health Benefits Exchange Authority. Dr. Ku has a Ph.D. in health policy from Boston University and an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley.
