Dr. Prakash's primary interests include the provision of primary care services to immigrant populations and teaching in clinical medicine and community health. In her practice at the Windsor Street Health Center, she provides both inpatient and outpatient care to a socioeconomically and ethnically diverse patient population, largely comprised of immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and Brazil. Dr. Prakash is active in medical education at the resident and medical student levels, serving as both an inpatient attending and outpatient preceptor for Cambridge Hospital Internal Medicine residents and for the Cambridge Hospital Integrated Clerkship. In addition, she serves as a tutor for the Physician in Community Course and for the Primary Care Clerkship at Harvard Medical School. Her most recent interests regard chronic disease management and patient education. As such, she has started multidisciplinary group visits for Spanish-speaking women with diabetes. Dr. Prakash received her medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine/Primary Care at the George Washington Medical Center in Washington, DC, June 2002.
