Kate Jacobsen, M.P.H., is a certified birth doula and a staff member in the Department of Midwifery at Bastyr University. Her work has focused on access to maternity care services, especially midwifery and doula care, and she is passionate about addressing inequities in birth outcomes. Jacobsen received her M.P.H. from the University of Washington School of Public Health, Department of Health Systems and Population Health, Maternal and Child Health Services track. Her thesis focused on impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on community-based midwifery in the greater Seattle area.
