Jason Hessing, MSEd is design strategist at Healthwise, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people make better health decisions. Jason specializes in helping teams challenge commonly held assumptions by engaging them in empathy-cultivating methods including diary studies, non-directed interviews, contextual inquiry and persona research. He is recognized for his efforts to cultivate disruptive, user-centered innovation and lean principles into development and design culture.
Prior to joining Healthwise in 2010, he worked in user experience and instructional design, conducting usability studies and design initiatives in e-commerce, healthcare, and higher education.
Jason holds his Masters of Education in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University, Bloomington. He is a certified Usability Analyst by Human Factors International and is actively involved in volunteering efforts to improve local charter schools and mentor youth and vulnerable populations in his community.
