Janet Heinrich, Dr.P.H., R.N., is research professor at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. Before joining the GWU faculty, she served as senior advisor at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where she worked with state innovations models, health workforce evaluation, and portfolio management. Heinrich was the associate administrator of the Bureau of Health Professions in the Health Resources and Services Administration during early implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Previously, she directed the public health team at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. She also led the American Academy of Nursing. Heinrich earned a Dr.P.H. from the Yale University School of Medicine, an M.P.H. from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an R.N. from the University of Michigan School of Nursing.
