Jane Bertrand, M.Ed., is executive director of the Atkinson Center for Society and Child Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto in Canada. She is also a faculty member at the Center for Early Child Development at George Brown College in Toronto and codirector of the Council for Early Child Development. Ms. Bertrand helped to develop the widely influential Early Years Study, and is currently working on a revised version. Her recent work has focused on the development of an integrated early years approach, and experimentation with delivery models that combine child care, family support, and kindergarten.
