Helen Pelletier is director of public affairs for the Maine Community College System and the former director of National Academy for State Health Policy's (NASHP) communications and marketing efforts. Previously, Ms. Pelletier served as speechwriter to one of Maine's governors, as a communications consultant to educational institutions and businesses, and as director of the Bowdoin College Upward Bound Program. At NASHP, she is responsible for press relations, the NASHP Web site, and the editing and production of NASHP's publications. Ms. Pelletier has also served as a staff member for the ABCD Consortium, helping to disseminate project findings to states across the country that are interested in strengthening the early childhood development services offered through Medicaid. Helen holds an A.B. from Bowdoin College and a master's from Georgetown University.
