In addition to being a practicing physician, Gregg S. Meyer, M.D., M.Sc., is the senior vice president for quality and safety at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO). Prior to that, he served as the medical director of the MGPO. Dr. Meyer was previously the director of the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. He also served as division director for general medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and was a colonel in the United States Air Force. Dr. Meyer graduated from Union College and Albany Medical College. He earned a master’s degree at Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and holds a master’s degree from Harvard University. Dr. Meyer has served on numerous national and international committees related to health care quality and safety and has authored more than 100 articles, editorials, chapters, and monographs.
