Biography at time of Mongan Commonwealth Fund Fellowship: Elna Nagasako, M.D., Ph.D., most recently served as instructor in medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Education, at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She was also the director of the Global Health Scholars in Medicine program at Washington University School of Medicine. As a Comparative Effectiveness Research Scholar, she is currently conducting research using administrative data to examine the effect of physician supply on health outcomes. She has also worked as a part-time hospitalist with Team Health at the Hilo Medical Center in Hawaii. Dr. Nagasako received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 2007 and her Ph.D. in optics from the University of Rochester in 2001. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis in 2010.
