Ellen Meara, Ph.D., is a professor at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, an adjunct professor of economics at Dartmouth College, co-faculty director of the Masters of Health Care Delivery Science program, and the Peggy Y. Thomson Professor in the Evaluative Clinical Sciences at the Geisel School of Medicine. A health economist, Dr. Meara is known for her work modeling the effects of public policies and regulations on health care utilization, overall health, and economic outcomes. Her research often focuses on the impact of public policies and regulations on publicly insured populations in Medicare and Medicaid. Dr. Meara is a coeditor of the Journal of Health Economics and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. She received a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
