Elizabeth Y. McCuskey, J.D., is a professor in Boston University’s School of Public Health and School of Law. Her research focuses on regulatory reforms for health equity and courts’ roles in securing those reforms, particularly the roles of federalism, preemption, and health justice in health insurance regulation. She has served as advisor to state task forces on universal health care proposals, and is coauthor of the Health Law: Cases, Materials and Problems casebook. Before joining Boston University in 2022, McCuskey was professor of law at UMass and directed the University of Toledo College of Law’s health law program and interprofessional joint degree programs. Prior to her academic career, she practiced law with Drinker, Biddle, & Reath LLP. McCuskey earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
