Carol Peng

Carol Peng, M.S.W., serves as the assistant director of research at the Asian American Federation of New York. At the Federation, she has been involved in an economic impact study of the September 11 terrorist attacks on Chinatown, a mental health needs assessment of Asian American victims' families and vulnerable residents of Chinatown, and a study evaluating health care choices and service use of Chinatown workers after the attacks. Prior to joining the Federation, she worked at several research centers in California in the fields of community mental health and ethnic minority psychology, including the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and the Departments of Psychology and Social Work at the University of California, Berkeley. She also served for several years as a counselor in the largest mental health residential treatment program for Asian Americans on the West Coast. Ms. Peng holds a master's degree in social work from Columbia University and completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and social welfare at the University of California, Berkeley.
