Calvin Franz, Ph.D., is a senior economist at Eastern Research Group, Inc., with more than 16 years of experience performing cost-benefit, cost-effectiveness, and economic impact analyses for a variety of clients, including Brigham & Women’s Hospital, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Dr. Franz has increasingly specialized in performing cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses of health care issues, including the adoption of computerized physician order entry and interventions to improve colorectal cancer screening. He has directed or contributed to a dozen economic analyses of environmental regulations promulgated by EPA.
