Becky Reed, MSEP is senior vice president at Healthwise, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people make better health decisions. She leads the user research and voice of the patient team at Healthwise. Her team specializes in illuminating health consumer needs, beliefs and feelings through non-directed interview methodology; mental modeling; behaviorally-focused personas; journey and experience mapping. She's spent her career in user research, user-centered and universal design. She developed the accessibility program at Healthwise, advocating for inclusive, guidelines-based development practices in web and software design.
Prior to joining Healthwise in 2006, she worked in user experience, conducting research and development in technology, higher education, and advertising.
Becky holds her Masters of Science in Experimental Psychology and Human Factors Engineering from the University of Idaho. She is a member of the Service Design Network and Association of Computing Machinists. She is a longtime volunteer in quality efforts at her local community health center.
