Dr. Elfiky completed his fellowship training in medical oncology at the Yale Cancer Center. He has received numerous awards and honors, including a Fulbright Scholarship for his study of the health care sector in Egypt and an ASCO Young Investigator Award for his research on renal cell cancer while at Yale University. He has committed to organizing a series of science fairs aimed at inspiring, mentoring, and nurturing the scientific interests of minority children in the U.S. His long-term objectives include developing national strategies to overcome health care disparities for cancer patients and ensuring the accessibility of standard-of-care therapies. Dr. Elfiky received his medical degree and a masters in immunology from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO in 2001; he completed his internship in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 2002 and completed his residency training at New York University Medical, New York, NY in 2005.
