Alyna T. Chien, M.D., M.S., is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and practicing pediatrician at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on aligning incentives with high-quality and high-value health care, especially for vulnerable populations. She has also served on national committees for the Patient Centered Outcome Research Institute (disparities), the National Quality Forum (risk adjustment), and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Innovation (next generation accountable care organizations), and her work has been recognized by the National Academies of Medicine. Chien received her M.D. from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and two M.S. degrees from the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division, in human nutrition/nutritional biology and health studies.
