Alexander Siebert is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Economics’ Applied Econometrics and Policy Analysis program at Tulane University. He is also a Special Sworn Status researcher at the Atlanta Federal Reserve’s Statistical Research Data Center. He has conducted research that investigates the robustness of Louisiana’s health system for treating substance use disorders; Medicaid’s efficacy in mediating the potential financial shocks experienced by enrollees who experience significant unanticipated health shocks; and assessing barriers to health care access experienced by minority populations. His research methods leverage quasi-experimental designs to ascertain the causal effects of health policies on patient outcomes. Siebert will earn a Ph.D. in economics from Tulane University in spring 2024.
