Adam Biener, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of economics at Lafayette College. His research focuses on medical care use and expenditures in the U.S. Specific areas of research include the medical care costs of obesity, physician payment and use of physician services, and racial and ethnic disparities in health care use. His work has been published in JAMA, Health Affairs, Health Services Research, and Health Economics. Previously, he was a research economist at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Biener earned Ph.D. in economics from Lehigh University.
