A project of the Nebraska Press Association Foundation, the Rural Health News Service Pilot Project brings information about important health care issues to rural communities in Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. Through a distribution of two columns each month to small, local newspapers that otherwise would not be able to afford to provide substantive health news coverage, the service is able to inform populations in those states about key health care system changes. This proposal would continue the Nebraska pilot for another 12 months and expand the project to Indiana as well. This phase will also introduce the first effort at creating a sustainability model for the project.
