For this project, The Pulse will produce a series of stories exploring issues of race, racism and health disparities. The stories will focus not only on describing the challenges health disparities and systemic racism in health care present but also on innovative solutions to address them. In addition, The Pulse will collaborate with four or five ethnic media outlets around the country to broaden the stories’ reach to communities of color. Some potential partners include MLK50: Justice Through Journalism, PressOn, Sahan Journal Radio Bilingue and National Latino Public Radio. The WHYY team will support these outlets as needed to tailor the stories/reporting to their audiences. WHYY will engage with listeners and stakeholders through virtual events and social media outreach.
