The Journalists in Aging Fellows program, a partnership of the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), has been providing training for reporters who are interested in writing about issues around aging for over a decade. The program has awarded fellowships to reporters from a wide range of national and local outlets. Participants receive several days of training and a stipend and commit to publishing at least two products. In 2019 the Commonwealth Fund funded this project to support a Fund‐developed panel moderated by Melinda Abrams called “Eldercare4All: Gaps Reporters Should Know About in the 2020 Campaign Debate” at the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting.
