As in previous years, this project will support the Association for Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) annual conference this spring, the Rural Health Journalism Workshop, and a specialty workshop addressing a newsworthy health topic in the fall. For the first time, this grant also will fund a new webcast series called Health Journalism 101, which will feature live events and recordings that can be referenced on demand. By partnering with various affinity groups (including Fund grantees the Native American Journalists Association and the National Association of Black Journalists) on content development and outreach, Health Journalism 101 will ultimately serve as a readily accessible education and training tool to help cultivate a pipeline of more journalists of color.
