What can we learn from international health system responses to COVID-19 that will help all countries be ready for the next public health crisis?
On Wednesday, December 1, at 9:30 am ET, the Commonwealth Fund hosted a virtual briefing on the results of new research from NORC at the University of Chicago, as well as the experiences and perspectives of leaders and innovators around the world who were involved in the pandemic response.
The briefing covered:
- findings from NORC’s cross-national investigation of pandemic responses in areas such as staffing, access to care, data infrastructure, decision-making, communications, and more
- key features of resilient health care systems and lessons from pandemic responses
- the value of cross-national dialogue and international comparisons in informing policy
- discussion among international leaders and experts with additional perspectives.
Reginald D. Williams II, the Commonwealth Fund’s Vice President for International Health Policy and Practice Innovations, moderated the briefing. Speakers included:
